Cloud Tai Chi
Cloud Tai Chi is based on the Taoist philosophy and incorporates many of the elements of traditional Chinese medicine including acupuncture. We will learn how to be more fluid and graceful in our movement. We will learn and practice Eight Pieces of Brocade, Five Elements, Bear Walking and Crane Walking. We will also work on the Lao Da Jia form from Chen Tai Chi. The exercises will strengthen the connections between mind, body and spirit in a very real way. You will learn to enhance and balance the flow of Chi in your body.
You will, with practice, notice that your ability to focus and to concentrate also is increased. We will also work on body alignment and correct breathing. The idea is to have fun, get off the couch and enjoy moving in a healthy balanced way. Chi is our life force or energy and we will learn techniques which will open your energy (Chi) channels and enhance your sense of well-being as well as help to reduce anxiety.
This system incorporates martial arts and a series of prescribed movements which modern research has shown to be highly effective in keeping its practitioners healthy, happy and fit.
